To provide a useful and local experience, we collect only necessary data:

• Account & Authentication: When signing in with Google OAuth or email magic links, we receive your email address, display name, and avatar image via Supabase Auth.
• Geolocation Information: If you grant permission, we access your device's GPS coordinates to show your location on the map and calculate distances to nearby restaurants. Location data is processed client-side and is never permanently stored or shared with advertisers.
• Activity & Interactions: Saved places, visited restaurants, dish bookmarks, personal lists, and ratings you submit on the platform.
• Referral Network Data: Information concerning the invitation code you redeemed to join or the invites you extend to other verified foodies.
• Cookies & Diagnostics: Essential session cookies required for authentication and optional telemetry for performance monitoring.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is utilized solely for legitimate dining and discovery functions:

• Verifying invitation-only community credentials and preventing platform spam.
• Rendering map pins, area filters, and distance indicators.
• Powering personalized recommendations based on your preferences.
• Maintaining application security, enforcing rate limits, and diagnosing server health.

Notice: TrueFoodie does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third-party ad networks or commercial data brokers.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with trusted infrastructure providers who uphold strict security standards:

• Supabase: Cloud database, authentication, and secure session management.
• MapLibre / Protomaps / OpenStreetMap: Vector tile rendering and cartographic base maps.
• Vercel: Web application hosting, edge proxy, and performance monitoring.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Under the DPDP Act and global standards, you retain complete sovereignty over your data:

• Right to Access & Review: You may inspect all personal data associated with your profile via your user settings.
• Right to Correction: You can edit your display name, food preferences, and saved lists at any time.
• Right to Erasure (Account Deletion): You may request complete deletion of your account, saved lists, and ratings by contacting us at the email below. All personal identifiers will be purged within 30 days.
